FedEx protecting min days off and holidays
What if you have a line with carryover into December then bid a line in December. If the only way to protect min days off drops a holiday will they drop that or not. Are you always guaranteed min days off?

Lets say your current schedule works 17 days so you request a 2 day trip to be dropped on 22Dec. Can they ignore that request and drop a 3 or 4 day trip if they choose that is in a less busy time. I am worried they will drop a weekend layover against my will instead of the crummy trip I want to drop

Contractually they should only take a 2 day trip if that will get you to your min days off. Anymore would cost you money. That being said who nows what deal they have worked out with contract adminstration. After all it is only a request. I think your safe but next time call the union.
25.F.7.a. A pilot shall have the ability to drop a trip(s)/R-day(s) from his line, provided that his line, after the adjustment, contains the minimum number of days off and the pilot shall be eligible for make-up. The pilot may request which trip(s) or R-day(s) will be dropped; or
25.F.7.b. If a pilot is unable to protect his minimum days off as provided in Section 25.F.7.a., the pilot shall have the ability to drop a trip(s) even though the drop(s) would cause his line to contain more than the minimum number of days off. He may request which trip(s) or R-day(s) will be dropped. The pilot shall then be eligible for make-up to the extent necessary to restore the CH value of a trip(s) dropped in the View/Add window, prior to construction of secondary lines.
