I'm not sure you can say UPS and good sign in the same sentence?

I'm not convinced yet that this thing will go through. We knew that the airline had to go away, so this does nothing to appease the EU regulators. They really seem to be sticking to their guns and by the tone of their comments, may want ALOT of concessions from UPS to make it go through. This thing, in my mind, is far from being done.

Furlough recalls - no, additional furloughs - standby for post peak announcement. But hey the pilot group is hitting the company right where it hurts by picking up open time during peak with guys on the street.

Give the Union a call. They can explain it to you. Even I was able to understand it

I would not bet on any additional furloughs, but recalls may not come for some time.

Dec 13th is almost here.

How many turn 65 next year?

I know it's not many, but some is better than none.

Not very many, It really doesn't matter. There have been retirements ongoing since the furlough began 2 years ago. The seniority list keeps shrinking from its peak in fall 2007 ...

I think UPS will lose about 40 or so, each of the next few years.

They are probably close to being "right sized" for the current fleet.

They may resume recalls in early 2013, or they may try to see how far they can go without recalls. (contract negotiation hostages)

The TNT accession, USPS contract, and crew rest (cargo cutout reversal) are all potential positives for hiring.

Also they are getting the rest of the 767's in 2013, but who knows if they will be a net addition to the fleet or not.

My sources indicate that it looks good for recalls in early 2013, but I will believe it when it happens.

The again domestic reserves are being paid to sit at home or crash pads.
