FDX Open Time

While your comment may reflect a genuine desire to join the FedEx aircrew corps (based on your growing qualifications), your remark also exposes a predisposition which may be prevalent among some of your CRS rank and file—an inherent resentment toward the aircrew force. This may serve to explain obstinate CRS commentary and the narrow latitude that I have witnessed from a select few, and may serve to influence a particular CRS scheduler’s unwillingness to consider VTO input or facilitate other specific aircrew requests/administration during operations.
Interesting you choose to address a “job swap” vice counter/clarify the assertions made in previous posts highlighting CRS’ process deficiencies. Telling. Perhaps you can provide some insight into CRS open-time trading practices and VTO input consideration to provide clarity.

If you would like to ask more specific questions, I will try to provide as much clarity about the job as I can. I am just not sure my experience level and knowledge base will be enough to completly answer your questions.

Every month about this time I think about drinking heavily, does that count?
Legitimate question (this time) - Do schedulers get in trouble if they process too many trades during their shift? I'm starting to think their lethargy is all part of the plan to push PBS.
This strong culture PC says we need - Is that so we can stand on our head in you know what longer?

In regards to your PBS comment. We get no information, have no say so, and are not persuaded to push any certian planning procedures in any way. I have to come to this forum to get info on the PBS debate. Things like this are not discussed with the minions.

Here's your problem!
I guess you believe "you are doing poorly, because someone else is doing well." This is the kind of attitude and thinking that will destroy this company and this country.

Chatted with a scheduler about a month ago who told me the rumor around the scheduling area was that "unused money in a pilot's deviation bank was deposited in that pilots paycheck the end of the year." I think the misinformation runs both ways and the company likes it that way.

Have a gal pal in the AOD who thought we got paid too much. I asked her how much Fred paid to have "FedEx Field" blazed on the stadium where the Redskins played. Of course, she did not know so I performed an on-the-spot intervention. Her 'tude changed w/i a day.
$7 mil per year BTW.

1) The deviation bank not used gets sucked up by management. They tell you it goes to the pilots because they don't want you to know the truth.
2) GT costs are immediately saved when a pilot deviates. There is no GT bank and, in the aggregate, is a substantial amount. A steady management earner.
3) You hear pilots complain because often the deviation bank is less than what the ticket costs right after lines are awarded, on schedule or deviating. The lower amount calculated a month before bid month execution is what the crew member gets to deviate, period. It varies but is often the most lucrative DH management take from us.
4) Deviation always, always, always saves the company money. Management loves it when we deviate. If management says it's a terrible headache and wishes we all lived in Memphis they are lying.
My opinion - I believe pairing construction takes into account historical pilot deviations.

Well you really have to be reading a lot in to my post to think I am complaining about your level of pay. I just posted a message to try to enter the conversation. I should have known it would be twisted around on these forums. Don't really need to defend myself, but I am doing very well for 27 years old I just have not reached my full potential yet. Until then I will talk to you on the phone and be as professional as possible.
