Default ABX Done Flying For JAL?

I just got a unique hit on a 767-200 flight from flightaware.

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/A...620Z/RJBB/PANC

Did ABX and JAL finally end the contract? I know it wasn't going the best and the planned expansion never occurred. This flight now has me wondering since I'm outside looking in.

Should be N744AX

Thanks!

Do to the tension between China and Japan over the island issue...the Chinese pulled the permit to operate between the 2 countries. JAL did not want this to end and are coming to KILN this week. As far as "it not going the best"....it was going very well and JAL has been extremely happy with the service. Having said that...becasue of the soft market in ASIA expansion has been slow.

Not to contradict what you are saying but we are operating our normal schedules to China in both freight and pax operations, the loads slowed down for a few days but they are back to normal levels lately, we haven't had any problems with our operations there.

I figured the actual flying was going fine. The only thing was the paper alternate issue. My "its not going the best" comment was directed towards the expansion. I was told that the second new hire class this year was suppose to cover the added flying that was in the works which never did materialize.

What is the plans going forward with JAL? Is 744AX going to work back into the DHL operation while new work is generated or just sit around?

There was never a second new hire class scheduled this year (at least ABX never announced one)....an upgrade glass scheduled in the July/August time frame was postponed has now been rescheduled to next week starting Nov 4th. As far as where the aircraft will go... rumor has it Mexico City to replace AEROMEX (easy now rumor only) Mex has been on the bid pack for 2 months yet to fly...Hawaii supposed to start in Nov sometime all though that will be a 300. N363CM do out next week delayed do to a repair decrepancy done by Qantas that the FAA had to sign off on.

I would be surprised if ATLAS was operating on an ABX permit to fly between those two countries. That info came from B Gray at a crew meeting in KCVG last week. This was a JAL charter so maybe they (JAL ) and the Chinese authorities got in a ****ing contest..
