Relax Larry... 'twas a joke. Thus the . We're on the same side.

Pensions governed by a federal law? Ask delta, united, and others how that worked out for them. It is criminal.

As far as I know, those pensions were, and are, being handled in accordance with federal law.

I'm not an expert on what happened to those particular pensions but I believe that they were terminated during bankruptcy while severely underfunded. ABX's plan has not been terminated, and ATSG is not in bankruptcy, so our situation is quite a bit different. ATSG has the obligation to fund the frozen pension in accordance with federal law. Article 22 of the CBA provides for the termination and lump-sum cash-out of the plan when it reaches a funding level that will support it. The DHL money that was put into the plan back in 2009 went toward reaching that threshold.

I guess all you ATI guys and, ugh, Cappy guys are salivating over the possibility of getting the pay and benefits that we actually fought for. I'm sorry to dash your hopes but I don't see it happening. At this time, the performance and reputation of ABX is the only thing keeping this corporation alive. I just don't see management risking losing that by bringing in the second string.

so you're at cappy, right? and you're getting ready to make the big upgrade to ati, but you wouldn't want anything to do with ABX pay or working conditions?
