Original question was VTO question, different animal from what you are discussing. You are correct, but apples and oranges.

I thought I understood this but I'm not sure I do after reading this thread.

If I have a 30 CH carryover trip into a 4 wk bid month and I am awarded a VTO line, will I get trips built on my line = or > min BLG and also have the 30 CH on my line? So my BLG for pay would be around 98?

OR Do they factor in the 30 CH carryover and I will only get an additional 38 CH built onto my line.

Second part of understanding: If I have no carryover but I want to bid C/O into the following month will I get built 68 CH in the current month and also might get C/O for the following month?

OR, will I only get awarded 68 CH during the VTO process to include C/O? In other words, if there is a 20 CH carryover into the next month that I bid first and it is put on my line, will I only get another 48 CH built into the current month? Or will my line show 68 plus the 20 C/O?

I rarely bid VTO but would like to make sure I understand. I have always thought you would get an additional 68 CH built onto your line in addition to any prior month carryover and not including any following month carryover. If you want to work yourself to death the company is fine to help. Never know when you might need this information.

Secondary line holders will never enter CIA, unless they have make up vacation to use as they have nothing on their line to conflict. Not sure what part of the make up bid you are referring to with this post.

As to the other posters questions, secondary lines ignore carry in hours and will be constructed to CBA mins and limited by the monthly "max" value emails set by the Company regardless of how many hours carry in you have. With of course one exception, if they cant build you a line to 68/85 they have to conflict credit hours under your existing carry in and those will go into your GMU bank.

4 week Example: Carry in 30 CH, 3 days recurrent and you protect min days. Assuming carry in covers 5 days you have 8 days of "work" and CRS has 28-8 = 20 - 13 days off = 7 days available to schedule at least 68 hours. That is not possible so they will give you as many CH on those 7 days as possible and then conflict r days under that 30 hours carry in. Your BLG could be 30 + 42 (assuming they could use all 7 days) for a total of 72 but they would give you 68-42 = 26 CH or 6 r days of time into your GMU.

If you are awarded carry out on your secondary line it is just like a regular line, they only count the hours in the current month towards both the 68/85 CH min and against the imposed "max" line value if applicable. The actual carry over hours are just factored into to the next month and not charged to any banks, it is a simple TRP assignment as if you were able to hold it on a normal line.

You thought correctly.

If you have 30 hours of C/O and a vto this month they will try to build you another (roughly) 72 hours. If you request max C/O they will try to give you (roughly) 72 hours this month and, in addition, any C/O that is available next month.

Great thanks. I got a little bit confused when the makeup bank kept getting referenced. Figured I ask and look a little bit dumb rather than screwing it up in a bid month and showing I'm dumb.
