Politicians are Politicians no matter which side of the aisle they are on. The all go to the highest bidder. Teacher Unions, or other public Unions, aren't the problem.

Just so we are clear, the other side doesn't get a penny from their own Special interest groups i.e Tobacco, Drug Companies, Defense Contractors, Energy Companies just to name a few.

You want to know the real problem is all politicians trade favors (regulations) for money. The left tends to favor more regulation, the further right you are the less favors you have to sell. Hence we have a center right population and a center left government.

The dilemma for an airline pilot is supporting unions at all. Public sector unions are easy to bash, we don't work for the public sector. Just look at the bashing of our own union and you can see that many pilots belief in collective bargaining is a mile wide and an inch deep.
A quick review of previous postings (mostly Fedex pilots) will show a general distain for (non pilot) union workers at UPS, let alone any employee group at Fedex. We love the benefits but are loath to support those who would protect our right to bargain for our collective wants and needs.
Just the reality of our profession.

Here is the bottomline public sector unions want higher taxes. I want lower taxes. Sorry if that is hard to understand. I see no conflict with my rights to collectively bargain. Did Scott Walker go after Harley Davidson? You know something I dont?
If any group at FDX wants to organize have at it, if they want my advice they should go for it. Same with the teamsters. My only problem with the teamsters is they would sell out ALPA in a heart beat if they could get a bigger piece of the public sector union pie. You are lieing to yourself if you think otherwise.

We are definitely greedy as are the teachers. The difference is the politicians use money and power from the unions to stay in office where they return the favor. No adversial relationship. Basically one party gets a cut of all the money they funnel to the public sector unions. Very similar to the 90 billion dollars we just funneled to green energy programs.
I don't know about you but I earn every penny I'm paid. I don't call that greed.

AA lost their A Plan B Plan and 401Ks when the judge allowed AA to cancel their contract with the pilots.
My guess is they will get the later 2 back one way or the other. The difference is that the poster does not want to acknowledge is AA and NW Pilots kept all the A Plan benefits they earned when their plans were frozen. Not so for Delta, United, USAIR, and most of the chapter 7 BK's.
