We're such professionals, blah, blah, blah, we're going to reduce your wake separation distance by a mile. But the customers will be happier and you'll be less fatigued!

I wonder how the 'traditional' land on the 36's with a tailwind will be affected by this? I think I may want to ride a touch above the slide until this exciting test sorts itself out-of course what good will that do when everybody starts doing the same thing?

Curious how this is going to be safe, especially behind a 75. I think our departures are a bit close as it is.

If you haven't been around aviation long, and find yourself a little challenged by the lingo, Google is your friend.

757 doesn't generate more wake than other heavy category aircraft do. It just generates more relative to its size.

Recat just allows for a realistic number based on dynamic conditions, instead of an arbitrary number. Depending on winds, actual aircraft wake profiles and following aircraft susceptibility, the distance can often be reduced, but sometimes needs to be increased.
