In house email (posted on the bulletin board near the cafeteria in AOC)suggested that it will only be staff personnel, and only salaried staff personnel at that. Also said the particular divisions that will be targetted won't be announced until 2nd half FY2013 (Jan-Jun for Fedex). No package or freight delivery folks will be eligible. Sounds like a Rumsfield-like right sizing of staff!

I was hoping they'd offer the OVER 60 folks an incentive to go away!*?

Mark

I was hoping the same thing in 2007 during financial Meltdown, why would we expect that they do it now. But i'm with you, it would be good for All!

Over 60, under 60....As long as they are senior to me, who cares?

Actually, I do care. I would prefer that very senior "under my age" guys would leave. Because, they'll be senior to me until I retire.

We're in contract talks. However, Lets not reward the over 60's AND 25 years of service, they've been at the trough too long.

I propose a penalty multiplier for anyone who stays past 60 that has their 25 years of service

2% x (years of service) - 1%/year over 60 =

In the time I've been here the only time the company ever offered early out options or incentives for pilots was during the Flying Tiger merger. I'd be gone in a heart beat if they offered ... and for the record I'm under 60.

It's all about me me me.

Retire at age 55, 60, 65, 70 ... As long as they're senior, we should run um all off. That's the ticket.
