New Airplanes for ATI? (Re-post)
Was told by a very reliable source that ATI could be up to 20 airplanes (all 757s and 767s) by Dec/13. This a complete 180 from a few months ago when it looked sort of bleak there.
As I understand it, the breakdown is as follows:
---------------------------------------------
-7 DC8 (remaining -73s and the four Combis)
+2 B757 (Two initial 757 Combis)
+2 or 3 B757 (Brings the Combi fleet back up to 4/5)
------------------------
Net Change: -1 or 0
------------------------
+4 B757F (Acquired thru the Capital merger that was made official in May/12)
+4 or 5 B757F (More B757F aircraft for a total of 8 or 9 flying DHL Domestic out of CVG)
+2 or 3 B762F (Not sure where these are going, maybe DHL Middle East or a replacement for the -73s)
+2 or 3 B763F (Not sure where these are going, maybe DHL Middle East or a replacement for the -73s)
------------------------
Net Change: +12 to +15
------------------------
Fleet Total: 16-20 (not including N712AX)
Numbers aren't cement but it seems like a big jump in planes when compared to just a few months ago. I hope it pans out but I'm not sold on putting a lot of their eggs in the DHL basket.
Anyone else heard similar info?

That is what I was thinking.....
I think maybe one or two more B757s (not including the combis) to add to ATI's current B757 fleet acquired from Capital for DHL out of CVG and maybe one or two 767s at most. There should be two 767-300s getting ready to come out of conversion in ILN (N364CM/5CM).
Sounds like they're putting a lot of their eggs in the DHL basket.

Not sure.....
I know ATI just sent three more 767s (two -200s and one -300) over to Bahrain for DHL Middle East to join N761CX. All four are now flying a ton which is good.
I would assume the DHL Domestic flying is what Capital currently has plus some/all of the Astar flying.

ABX picked up BOS, MCO, YHM and ATL. All former Astar flying. Also added an additional Mexico city in August. Renewed a long term committment to CDG and EMA for DHL. And, bridge flying to Asia through ANC starts in September. 767-300 in regular service to LAX for DHL too.
Ain't the greatest place in the world to work, but the future at ABX is looking pretty solid.

Due to ABX's scope clause, no one from the ATSG group can fly domestic 767's except ABX. Due to this clause, they basically invited Atlas on the property to fly 767's for DHL. Very smart move, bring the competion on your turf who happens to work for less with excellent on time performance. Bravo ABX.

Atlas currently has three 767-200s in the DHL system out of CVG. Two more are expected from what I've heard.
