Except DHL wanted to place the airplanes with CCIA, so scope didn't do anything except, hurt ATSG, ATSG stock holders (which I am), CCIA, all furloughed people at all three companies, and the MECs have no negotiating powers with Atlas because they are a true competitor. Like I said things could have been negotiated to benefit everyone, including the ABX pilots. 5 airplanes and millions of dollars could have been under ATSG (which you work for) which helps everyone. Your scope sucks and accomplished nothing but gave Atlas another aircraft type that competes with you directly. What happens in CVG when ABX contracts start coming up for renewel and now your competing with atlas ?

So.....by your way of thinking ABX MEC should take dues paid by ABX crews and use that money to ignore our scope which was put in place to prevent Hete from whipsawing a/c and crews from one airline to the other....and spend 1224 time and money to secure flying jobs for CCIA????? Wow...do they even do random drug testing where you work? ****!

ABX had the option of keeping those five airplanes or putting them to DHL at the lessor of market or book value (IIRC). ABX chose to put them to DHL. If ATSG wanted those airplane for one of the ATSG carriers then they would still have them.

They came from TWA and had the P&W engines instead of the GE engines that the rest of the ABX fleet had. That made them the logical choice to put back to DHL when ATSG decided that it wanted to put back airplanes.

Well lets see.....1224 uses our scope to prevent ATI/CCIA to fly 767 domestic for DHL or....we ignore scope and allow ATI/CCIA to fly 767 aircraft domestic for DHL and ABX never gets any new domestic DHL flying and slowly watches the current flying shift to ATI/CCIA as those carriers acquire more 767s do to lower pay scales and crappy work rules...hmmm I wonder which would be better????? It is a moot point as CCIA was never getting those A/C anyway. Either way ATLAS or ATI/CCIA... ABX would not have benefited from the flying the DHL aircraft . And despite what you think keeping the flying "all in the family" for ATSG companies is not the goal of 1224.

As far as business goes...ABX went from flying 13 a/c to currently 20 for DHL. We added 5 300s to our certificate in the last 60 days and 3 cities. We just added a 300 to LAX for DHL. We have reached the bottom of the recall list (some bypassed due to other commitments) and had a new hire class in Jan. As far as more DHL flying I personally think ATSG is in bed farther than what is healthy with DHL and I am glad ABX has new contracts elsewhere MIA, LAX, ASIA etc. JMHO
