I "know" what SJ is doing.....do you? As far as going to alt without it being in the database (not without an FMC as you said) THE FOM RESTRICTS USING DESTINATIONS THAT ARE NOT IN THE DATABASE TO DOMESTIC ONLY. The captain had no choice due to the restriction...clear now? I guess ALPA would not fight for you huh?

There would still be a vote as to representation.....currently Teamsters can out vote ALPA (Teamster members on furlough get to vote) and there is no way ABX would vote ALPA.

Whoa Dog. Did you really just say that you think Hete will make a business decision based on some kind of sentimental feelings? Are you sure you want to stick with that answer? Who are you trying to convince with that one?
As far as that intra-Asian letter or whatever, how many years has ABX had that capability? How has that and you Asian side letter worked out for you guys? Are you sure it's really that big of a deal?
As for your scope, what do you think happens to your scope and your work rules once your union ceases to exist?
what is SJ and pals focusing on now?

You don't know who will get to vote. That will be decided by an arbitrator not your contract. At ALPA, furloughed members don't get to vote. They won't let furloughed from one group vote and not from the other.
With the merging of ATI and CCIA, and the stagnation of ABX due to greedy open time feeding, The ALPA group will outnumber the APA group. Have you read your merger policy? Can you say stapler?
Don't worry. When it comes to that, SJ and pals will have enough money to punch out.
BTW Dog. If the growth is going to be in Asia...um, why isn't there any growth in Asia?

I don't care, but just curious as why your operations intra-Asia are tied to special approval to operate a/c without factory cargo doors.

Either way.... I find it hard to believe that the decision will rest on ONE round trip flight every few days a week (KIX-PEK-KIX) compared to ATI's OP SPECs (Need to take something to North Korea?). That is the only flight JAL has ABX doing and it doesn't sound like more will be coming anytime soon out of that contract.
Could be wrong.....
As far as the FMC database issue, it is a valid fight since its in the GOM that it can't be used and AFAIK there was no bulletins published to the contrary.
