FDX - Europe getting worse

The French have been doing the "carry your own bag" thing for years. I've watched the rampers hide behind staged AMJs until the crew gets to the ground with their own bags, then come out to get the freight.

I think the new directive will be safer for everyone. By having the pilots carry their own luggage, there will most likely be less back injuries for everyone. I've noticed many of the "senior" pilots over there with contorted backs and walking with a limp. I believe this may be caused from them being so unbalanced as they shuffle down the stairs, carrying nothing but a heavy bag of catering for their layover with one hand. Having their luggage in the other hand will balance their load and straighten those spines.
