And I might as well add the obvious - significant reductions in Full Time Employees through attrition and some sort of incentivized early retirement (not to include pilots). R&I will be targeted too.

CapEx seems steady moving forward at just under 4B (1/2 of that for fleet acquisitions).

"May you live in interesting times."

Every one of us needs to have the ability to do 3 to 6 months with no income at the drop of a hat.

Every one of us needs to have the budget of the pay level below them, i.e. if you're a wide body F/O you need to have the budget of a narrow body F/O.

Every one of us needs some source of outside income, either a working spouse or a second career.

I consider those just the bare minimum, by the way. Ideally you should be much much more conservative. Blows me away, the number of guys who are living paycheck to paycheck.

The company would not have "offered" us anything! We need to ask for it. The negotiating committee has a long list of things we want.

Thanks in advance.

You are right on with those comments. And that is a bare minimum.

What exactly is the mini RLG issue?

I thought that while on R days and leveled, sick time would not be deducted from bank while on SCK, unless you were going to be launched while on reserve.

Is that no longer the case?

If you work at least one R day in that month, then your sick bank will only be deducted if you are assigned a trip. But let say you are sick the whole month and don't work a single R day, your sick bank will have RLG deducted from it.

I'm pretty sure that's how it works, I'm sure somebody will correct me otherwise.

That is how it works if you get a reserve line. The mini RLG issue is if you get a line(custom or VTO) with both r-days and trips on it, if your sick for a whole section of r-days, your sick bank will get deducted for the value of those r-days.
As you said, that's how I think it works, and if not, I'm sure someone will correct me.

MEM ddh Europe trips scheduled to domestic parameters

already allowed before this CBA

Mini RLG against your sick bank

i believe also was the way it previously worked and was just added to CBA for clarity, either way is that not fair?

777 exempted from 4a2b line spread requirements

not anymore...

correct, if you are sick for all of your r days (regular reserve, mini or whats left after vacation etc) you get charged for all r days out of your bank vs. whatever you would have been leveled against.

only for FDA and SIBA, 757 didn't do SIBA and Europe SIBA has gone away for Airbus

Mini RLG against your sick bank

i believe also was the way it previously worked and was just added to CBA for clarity,

only applied to vacation and reserve (due to failed greivance) now to custom lines as well (and we do not own the definition of "mini RLG")

either way is that not fair?

You tell me when your custom line has one 6 hour trip and 3 blocks of reserve. is each block a mini RLG or do all 3 blocks together constitute a mini RLG?

777 exempted from 4a2b line spread requirements

not anymore...

but still a concession

One last thing - All these questions about being out sick for an entire RLG or mini RLG make me wonder how many people have actually read the CBA or LOA before they voted or were they just taking the recommendation from the head shed
