How many times have we all agreed that it's a good thing to take an active role in our union, either as a volunteer or elected official. As well, most guys feel it's important to be "engaged" in all aspects of our work-a-day life, although not that many, in truth, live up to that standard. That said, I don't understand your above comment. Before I go any further, let it be known that: 1) I don't believe that I know Tony C, and have never had the pleasure or displeasure of meeting him; 2) I don't always see eye-to-eye with his comments, although I do appreciate them for what they are, which is his viewpoint; 3) I don't believe it's appropriate for someone here to diss another for his involvement on this board. In fact Tony took a number of years off from posting on APC, and was missed; and finally 4) I just noticed that I'm going over 3000 posts, so please don't give me any grief over it.

Your question doesn't deserve an answer. Whether or not I'm angling for a moderator job is irrelevant to this thread, but bringing up the matter is a way for you to distract.

And your slam of the current moderators, insinuating they are censors, is an insult they do not deserve. It's not becoming of an adult.


But in order to satisfy your inner child, I'll give you an answer. No, I'm not angling for a moderator job. It's thankless, and it's a pain in the a.. backside to deal with the juvenile behavior exhibited by some of the people who enjoy this free resource.

Nooo Tony, I did not slam the Mods here or insinuate they are censors, you did that. In fact I believe they do a great job in a fairly thankless environment. My comment was for you and you only; contrary to what you want to portray. Nice distraction though.

As for satisfying my inner child, that was accomplished with the taking of the 3%, the three Recalls, the appointment of yet another highly skilled and dedicated Neg. Chairman after the previous one was run off in the name of politics, the affirmation and permanent installment of the block 5 Rep and the overwhelming vote of confidence demonstrated by the crew force during all of the above in support of our Unions current policy and approach toward negotiations.

You see Tony, most of us here are fairly happy with where we are (with a few very notable exceptions i.e. The HK 4 situation being primary right now) and have demonstrated such repeatedly in votes, calls for transparency, recalls and choosing replacement Reps. It's not perfect, but in General a functioning system. Unfortunately, there remains a small cadre who cannot seem to take NO for an answer. Even though the Crewforce has repeatedly shown they do not want the "We know what is best for you because we have more knowledge so shut up and Color" mentality and mindset in our Reps, this Cadre continues to work to undermine every effort currently working in our Union. Most of us, after having our say but not winning the day in a policy decision, would acquiesce to the will of the majority, pick up a oar and help row the boat. Instead we witness more attempts to discredit the Union under this administration.

I have an extra oar Tony......care to help Row?
