More HKG Housing "Grey Area"
#121
ok, then back to the string title "grey area"
what is bothering me most after digesting the info presented is the apparent total lack of leadership from the MEC on this one. If I have this right, I see the following: 1. Grey area exposed by Company and their displeasure with some behavior a long time ago. 2. Even sitting reps, apparently confused enough to not want to venture into that "briar patch". 3. to date ALPA has at best provided luke warm public support for the pilots involved, why? 4. What is ALPA's position? because in my book just saying the Company position is not correct does nobody any good. 5. If ALPA truly did not know the "requirements" to maintain the HA then bad on us and I would think rather then let 4 (and the others) hang in the wind we should of heard strong and clear communications from our MEC LONG and AGO!!! and those communications should have been either full support of our pilots or pushed the amnesty and fixing this problem.
to make the 4 remaining and any future pilots pay for this lack of leadership is truly sickening to me.
I wouldn't say The Company exposed a gray area, but they started questioning pilots eligibility for the Housing Allowance. This occurred BEFORE the CGN FDA Vacancy was posted, and the former Hong Kong Rep and myself had to pull teeth to get the MEC Chairman to publish anything at all about the witch hunt in progress.
Of the 21 on that original list, none have been contacted by The Company to tell them they're OK or they're not. The terminated pilots were not on that original list of 21. By long time ago, I mean March of 2011.
On points 2 through the end of the post, I agree 100%.

He fired his Rep.
His new Rep probably needed directions to the office on Kirby.
SS is the problem. "He's doing everything he can, we're devoting all of our resources, we're talking to people higher up than we usually talk to."
Blah, blah, blah.
When asked, "What are you going to really do?" his response has been to attack the questioner.

Now you've done it!!! Standby for the wrath of the "How dare you question SS, he is the greatest thing since sliced bread" crowd.
Oh -wait. You have already been a victim of that haven't you.

Not jaded..
I always wonder about this financial legislation he is so worried about...it seems more geared to effect his financial clients outside of Fedex, than the pilots he is representing...but I digress.
Glad we had this little talk.

[QUOTE=TonyC;1213937]I appreciate the vote of confidence, but I believe the base would be better served by someone who lives in HKG and intends to be in the base long enough to serve out the term.
You have year left in HKG. Its enough time to fix this mess.

That's pretty pathetic when your only complaint is a post count.
It's a good thing I stopped posting almost 5 years ago, or you might REALLY have something to complain about.
I think I have just as much right as anyone else here to express my opinon here, so long as it's done in a civil and respectful manner. And so, I did. That doesn't restrict anybody else from expressing their opinion, and you are not required to read mine.
You seem to forget whose side we're on.
FLMD11FO ... if you think you're being censored, I really feel sorry for you.
