Scope does not mean much since your in a holding company. PeachTree will play the shell game with you all day. Also since you cant strike AMC flying and that is were almost 95% of your profits come from you dont have a strong economic impact during a strike. I would stop sleeping like the Delta pilot group and not be so ardent, it gets you no were.

True WorldGuy, that is very true. I respect you guys and have alot of friends over there. I wouldnt like to see anyone price them selves out of a job by thinking that they are special and only they can do what they do. The truth is a company can get a ton of very qualified heavy pilots on the property in short order under XYZ brand World Holdings (BostonMaine Airways like). All I am saying is just watch your productivity and pay rates compaired with the rest of the industry.

Our rates are posted on this website, a quick glance will show our pay is pretty middle-of-the-pack. Productivity, well, that is not limited as much by our contract as it is by Crew Planning/Scheduling. But thanks for your concern.

Hey guys I would like to know how the QOL is over at World. I have heard that there are people leving, and that they are having a class of 20 in Jan. I was interviewed and I am looking at the options. I know that there is a two year training contract. Besides that how is it overall on the home front with being gone this long? Also, how are the hotels and block hours flow once you are off reserve? Any info would be great.

I think the QOL is very good overall, but of course that is dependent on your preferences. I prefer to work as little at possible and maximize days off. On average I am home 18 days a month. I rarely go out for 14 days in a row though that is what most folks here prefer to do. Hotels are generally 4star or better for layovers over 30 hours.
We do have a few ppl leaving for UPS and FEDX and some retirements, very rare to have someone leave to return to the legacy jobs.

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. (Nov. 15, 2006) – World Airways, a wholly owned subsidiary of World Air Holdings, Inc. (OTC:WLDA.PK), has extended its leases for three MD-11 passenger aircraft and three MD-11 cargo aircraft, all leased from ILFC, with staggered terms ending March 2013 through May 2014. The previous leases would have expired in 2008 and 2009
Not sure if these include the Delta birds that we are leasing from UPS, but those were scheduled to go to UPS in 2008 and 2009. I know we have several aircraft that already have long term leases on them as well.
