So when management pilots ( alpa members) fly a DP to "evaluate" it they are really just helping the company and screwing the SIG since they are not on reserve? Interesting.

Too much hostility on this thread, cant we just all agree that a current MEC officer and future Management Pilot are interchangable terms and assume that a DP flown by a future management pilot does not effect the DP Process?

Interesting question. What former MEC officer became a management pilot? (Be careful. Don't confuse FPA's Board of Directors with ALPA's Master Executive Council, or President for Chairman, etc.)

I'd hope we are not breeding a new generation of DP flyers....and calendar blockers, but we could be.

This time employee #s are not deceiving.

Come on "young guns" ---- we need to "run all the way thru the finish line" in June!

Remember, one can "pick up" a DP, and one can also "drop" it!

Damage has been done once it's been picked up. Dropping it just gives another weak link jackwad an opportunity to pick it up and pad the stats in the company's favor.

The DP process needs to go.

Basically he is jumping on those grenades for us. A little research will prevent these mis-understandings in the future.........

P.S. Nice 22nd post there "Butter"...........
Looking at the trip in VIPS, there is no way to determine that those DPs were picked up in AFB! It could have been MU or DFT for all we know. Regardless of what status he flew it in, he did it VOLUNTARILY which, as Tony said, hurts the DP process and shows poor support for the SIG by the MEC!

PS. How's that for a 23rd post, A$$!

ANC MEC rep put out an e-mail last month which disputes this. The bottom line is, the SIGs power comes from guys avoiding trips, for whatever reason. If someone accidently picks one up they need to drop it, to show these are not being voluntarily picked up. Yes it hurts, but the damage is not done until they pick it up and then fly it.

Just curious,

When did the DP process begin? Do we know how many pairings in total have been identified as DP's? And, how many of those pairings have been changed as a result of the DP process? That would probably answer how well the program has worked so far. Hopefully, the numbers support the program, even in spite of the guys who continue to pick up the DP's, mistakenly or not...

Same as your 2nd.........full of ill informed, lemming like invective; the usual last resort of those with problems and no answers. But life is a journey....as is growing up. Good luck with it.
