Hope for a new bid before you start class or enjoy the training/new seat.

Not true. You may withdraw from training at anytime. If you withdraw prior to the start of training if or how long you are seat locked will be determined by the SCP. There is a settlement on the contract admin side of the PFC website concerning this (07-02).

More specifically from what I heard is that the person tasked with analyzing the economic forecast with respect to flight ops had not done so yet. Seeing as how our fiscal year runs, that's not really surprising.

Actually heard directly from the SCP today that bid should be out this month. CGN is one of the reasons driving a bid soon, as we are adding (5?) airplanes there.
Without looking for the other threads (on my phone), I'll post it here. Disclaimer, this is just paraphrasing and I didn't take notes, so, these are estimates, subject to change without notice -- I'm not a lawyer
15 777's on property with firm orders to total approx 50. New hires into the right seat of even the 777 a possibility (that was from a union rep). 777's performance is outstanding and will begin to take more and more long haul international flying from the MD11, which will slowly become more of a domestic bird.
26 767's on order. They will mainly replace MD10's initially. He expects a possible mixed bid pack with the 757, but negotiations will determine the outcome.
89 757's approved by the board, more very likely after that.
A310-200's going away slowly as it is the most costly and least reliable aircraft of the fleet. The other Aibusii, staying around.
727's gone by January of 2015. Seat locks for newhires in the 727 are likely.
Continuing to hire 20 a month for the foreseeable future. With approx 170 retirements expected this year. About 5000 applicants on file and very competitive. Selection of 270 from the 5000 depends on many things, some of which he could talk about. What you might imagine, applicants scored on many areas: total time, heavy jet PIC, jet PIC, check airman/safety functions in military or Part 121, etc.
He also spoke of the possible uniform changes. We will not have to wear a hat (thank you). About the parka, there will be a thorough review of options for a replacement, to ensure that the new item is warm, water repellent, and comfortable as a layover jacket.
Great guy and a very nice presentation on where we are now and where we are headed.
