FDX: Here comes the MEM witch hunt!!

It seems nobody learns around here........we don't, as evidenced by the recent disruptive attempts on the part of the former Block 1,4 &5 Reps along with the current ANC Rep......as well as the company doesn't learn: right on the heels of the HKG debacle the A$$ pain of this double check, check you were paying attention, check you are not lying......this has happened before ala the Sodomizer being turned on and cranked up by VP M**k..........only thing it accomplished was extraordinary solidarity with in the Pilot ranks.........things that make you go Hmmmmm..........

I've seen this issue since my earlier days in the military. Every pilot on this forum has either scammed or knows someone who scams. Sometimes on small things and some larger. Most guys generally get away with whatever the'yre doing for quite a while if not forever. I knew guys scamming in CAN (claiming they moved when they were really commuting) before HKG opened that never got in trouble. I know of one who was approached and the company basically let them off the hook without really going after him. How many guys never resigned from Airline X? If the HKG investigations had turned up no violators then there might be a legitimate argument of a with hunt but we know the result. I agree that the majority follow most of the rules but you cant call it a witch hunt or claim that your integrity is insulted when the company ask you for proof of something or decides to investigate questionable activities. If they are doing so its because its probably been an issue. If you owned a small business and had a problem with a few employees you'd probably do something similar. You might even go after a couple to send a message to all that there can be repercussions for not following your rules.
I'm not a management guy or company man but the bottom line is if you're doing what you're supposed to be doing you've got nothing to worry about. You can roll the dice if you like but you cant be upset when you see flashing lights in the rear view mirror. So far I dont find these request for documentation or the HKG issue intrusive or excessive...just my two cents

TipTip you sure got the outlook of a manager y'all are scammers or are complicite in the scamming. Do we all need to do pushups when one of us doesn't work according to the manual.. Either the co got sold a money saving "audit" plan which I haven't had to do since hiring on based on a 40 year old law, or the company believes spending a hundred grand plus on a teaching moment is worth the money.

"Supposed to be doing" according to who? The same company that stole from us? Wake up.

At my company, they started having me verify the kids when the oldest turned 19, to ensure he was still a student, and his part-time employer did not offer him insurance. It's and annual event. The college provides a student verification form (the student can produce it from the campus web portal) and the employer signs an affidavit. Pretty simple, keeps the ineligibles off the company insurance rolls. No action required until the kids turn 19, but some coverages, medical/dental/vision have different age limits and requirements. YMMV
