I think you or any other ABX pilot can change that status Sheriff. Not everyone reads these forums. If that status showed pilots on furlough, it would have raised the question for the new hires.

Sheriff,

Throughout this entire thread you've posted on multiple occasions pi$$ing on the new guys. What the F do they have anything to do with any of this? "...replacement workers are enjoying work at ABX while...." This suggests they are somehow in the wrong. You may have not meant that, but that's how these posts are coming across. As if they (the new hires) are supposed to do something.

If that's the case, what do you suggest they do? I was furloughed from NJA. I went looking for a job hard and didn't find one for 18 months. With a wife, a mortg and 3 mouths to feed - you think doing research on a companies furlough was on the radar when/if they came calling? I'm not saying I/they would walk across any type of picket line. Far from it. This situation doesn't resemble that anyways. I'm saying it's not their fault and not on their radar.

Disclaimer - I am NOT at ABX but I do know pilots furloughed from other airlines that just got on recently. Good guys that don't have a dog in this fight. I understand your frustration but you need to lay off the new guys. That's classless and unproductive. Take the focus off these guys and direct it elsewhere.

Just to add more sh!t to the storm, ATI furloughed again today.
Another 11 Abx'ers hit the street 9th April, with the rumor being another wack later in the month.
Don't you just love this cr!p!!!

That's an oxymoron if there ever was one!

I guess you're right about that, but it definitely beats the alternative.

Tpa-- you say "what the F do they have anything to do with this?"

Some new hires knew **exactly** what they were doing. I know of one new hire who called the union reps to inquire about it before his interview, and even asked about it in the interview. He took the job knowing full well the implications of his actions. He was in the March 14 class.

In my opinion, that makes him accountable, as Sheriff has said before. Those of you who want to jump on Sheriff do not fully understand (or want to believe) the situation.

Speaking of not having a dog in the fight, why is a K driver getting involved? Speaking out of turn is "classless".

One thing I can't understand is why the few here waited so long to get the word out that new hires are taking positions that furloughed people want back? This thread was started one week ago, but interviews and hiring took place as early as January. By the looks of it classes with new hires are older than this thread. There is even a thread on the 1224 public message board asking about hiring at ABX that was started back in January. No one there stated to the masses that potential furloughs will be left on the street while new people are hired. I am trying to comprehend why everyone sat on their hands until now. I am a 1224 member (unfortunately) and I am seeing two different tunes being sung between the union website and here.
