ABX hires replacements with dozens furloughed

One thing I can't understand is why the few here waited so long to get the word out that new hires are taking positions that furloughed people want back? This thread was started one week ago, but interviews and hiring took place as early as January. By the looks of it classes with new hires are older than this thread. There is even a thread on the 1224 public message board asking about hiring at ABX that was started back in January. No one there stated to the masses that potential furloughs will be left on the street while new people are hired. I am trying to comprehend why everyone sat on their hands until now. I am a 1224 member (unfortunately) and I am seeing two different tunes being sung between the union website and here.
The first mutually acknowledged illegal New Hires (from both Company and Union) didn't start until just a couple weeks ago.
Trust me that everyone involved has been far from sitting on their hands in this issue. We have been working tirelessly both on our own and in attempts with the Union to resolve these issues. Of course we won't post every private detail of those communications on this public forum. What is however public and must remain so, is that any New Hires from this point are illegal at ABX. The word is out, and I think that was the point of this thread.
BTW...there are different threads regarding this issue dating back to January

Sheriff,
Throughout this entire thread you've posted on multiple occasions pi$$ing on the new guys. What the F do they have anything to do with any of this? "...replacement workers are enjoying work at ABX while...." This suggests they are somehow in the wrong. You may have not meant that, but that's how these posts are coming across. As if they (the new hires) are supposed to do something.
If that's the case, what do you suggest they do? I was furloughed from NJA. I went looking for a job hard and didn't find one for 18 months. With a wife, a mortg and 3 mouths to feed - you think doing research on a companies furlough was on the radar when/if they came calling? I'm not saying I/they would walk across any type of picket line. Far from it. This situation doesn't resemble that anyways. I'm saying it's not their fault and not on their radar.
Disclaimer - I am NOT at ABX but I do know pilots furloughed from other airlines that just got on recently. Good guys that don't have a dog in this fight. I understand your frustration but you need to lay off the new guys. That's classless and unproductive. Take the focus off these guys and direct it elsewhere.

You say that you wouldn't be a scab and cross a picket line, but how would you know? You're not checking into the company at all right?
I'm sure some of the new hires are "good guys", but good guys make bad decisions from time to time. Getting involved in this mess could easily be argued as a bad decision and a selfish decision. I understand being unemployed...I'm there right now. I wouldn't go to work even in my current situation at a company pulling stunts like this. And yes, some of those good guys knew what they were getting into. Don't be naive. Not trying to act better than anybody here, just calling it like I see it. Undoubtedly others see it differently, which speaks to my first post.
Those guys (or at least some of them) should be furloughed according to the CBA. That's not vengeful or anything the like. Its just the way seniority works. The Company seems to have conveniently forgotten that to save a buck. Like we've said all along, the Union is working the problem. I'm just not sure their solution will be satisfactory. We'll see....

Hey Omi, where do I pick a number? Sorry for speaking out of turn.
Your 1st post...I feel honored.
"Speaking of not having a dog in the fight, why is a K driver getting involved?"

I think you'd agree that titling something (especially a Quentin project) gives you a certain amount of creative freedom, but hurtling useless and inane insults warrants a response similar to mine.

The only "useless and inane insults" I've seen here are your ad hominem: ".... You show everyone else you're a moron, yet you are oblivious."
Tpa's comments are more in the line of sarcasm. Please point out the insult you see that I don't. Is it "What a joke"?

I agree that Quentin is entitled to a certain (nay, a great) deal of creative freedom. His particular misspelling of that word has attained something of a cult standing, something that Tpa apparently gets and you didn't.

I'm sorry, the "classless and unproductive" comment to a man that is trying to fight to have the right thing done, I felt, was hurtling inane insults.... Especially coming from a guy who doesn't have a "dog in the fight", while saying the new hires at abx don't have a "dog in the fight"... When in fact, they do! Not only did some of them know exactly what they were doing, this may very well happen to them in the future! And if it happens again, those new hires would be on this forum making posts very similar to Sheriff! Ironic, isn't it?
Unfortunately, I am quite sure he misspelled his word (and did not have a pop culture reference in his post, as you so eloquently aluded to). If he did, then you're right, I didn't get it... And frankly couldn't care less.
It still doesn't take away from the original point....
The new hires are responsible for their actions. They do have a "dog in the fight". What Sheriff is doing each day is a good reminder, and far from "classless and unproductive".
So, Tpapilot. I challenge you: What if netjets hired new pilots right now and didn't recall anyone. Are you NOT going to blame the new hires (even partly) for taking that job with current furloughs on the street because they would claim ignorance to the fact that hundreds of pilots are currently furloughed??? Answer me honestly, and I think you'd agree.
