You're right. However, trends could be identified. And peer pressure might make a few think that their jobs aren't worth getting caught. And yes, I really think there are some, maybe schedulers, charter folks and crew members that are getting insider info. But your fixation on real time trip trading isn't relevant here. We all want it. If I had a bot program, I could turn it on and it works just fine with real time while I am flying to sydney. It doesn't eliminate any of the issues except us wasting time doing the RCA Dog at the trips that haven't been processed. Which has nothing to do with the same people getting the gucci charters all of the time. If we had real time trip trading, I believe more people would hit the 300 count stop because more people would keep refreshing open time.

FDD,
That is the exact info needed. As App said, once the policy is stated then Pro stans would have to take it to the next step - to the company if the pilot wasn't willing to work it out. That is one pilot sticking it to the masses and if he/she isn't willing to see that they are wanting to get a solution without the company, then they deserve getting stuffed by a management type.

Golf, getting one of those trips every other month is by definition of "getting a life!". Have you seen them? 10 day trip done in 6 with only one or 2 operational legs..or better yet trips that get bumped by management? So the fact that I hit refresh once I'm back in the hotel watching CSI reruns and stumble on to something is worth it to me. I'll take the additional 2 months off last year and the diamond status on Delta is nice as a commuter. Glad some don't want to play. YMMV
And I am still in the minors compared to some of the guys!!!

I still would like to know why lockout after 300 attempts. I do not believe this is in the contract. Moreover, what if they decide to do it after 5 attempts. Another reason for extremely specific language in a contract, but why digress.
FWIW I did recently get a "good deal," schedule is unblocked, and man was I lucky to get it.
However, this frozen trip thing does need to go. I suggest a side letter of agreement stating that after bid pack printing, "charter flights" must be published unfrozen at 1500 c.s.t. every day or not at all. (or pick another standard time that makes sense). And yes, I agree with App dude.

If you're getting locked out at 300 open time checks, you're pushing hard. What's to stop you from checking open time 10 times a minute without a limit? Then no one would stand a chance other than you constant checkers.
I've heard the story about someone getting a trip airborne for several years. Has it happened in the last year or 2?
Might as well tell the old story of PC hanging out at the scheduler's desk with his uniform on a hanger.
