Follow the dam procedures and we're not having this conversation. I also am not a MEC member and was not in executive session. However I do not believe SL is a liar. I'm not going to advocate removing every LEC rep who tries to ensure proper procedures are followed.
Too many ifs to ponder. It would be easier if ALL the details or even just a few more were available.

I'm not saying anyone is lying, per say, but are we getting enough about the situation to accurately make a judgment about what happened? I think not.

Once again, why is that not handled by the MEC while they are in session? I would like to hear what the MEC decided to do after all the facts were weighed. The block reps can give us their take but I have no context without the MEC position to consider. I think it's possible the other reps do not agree with SL's analysis and I would like to know why.

Correction.......all three recalled, 2 by 52% and one by significantly more than that. Now that this has been done I hope that 1. The recallee's abide by their published promise to honor any recall. 2. Now that for the 5th time the membership has spoken as to how fed up we are with these type of shenanigans the MEC gets on with Association business, let the Negotiating Team do their job and put a swift halt to any other attempts to stop the program that a vast majority of the crew force approves of. We sent that message in Dec/Jan when we overwhelmingly told our elected Reps to take the 3%. So.......MEC........get on with it using the measured, mature, businesslike model that we have clearly indicated for you to use. No more of this "burn the house down" antiquated "Louisville Slugger" mentality.

"Significantly more than that"? "Vast majority of the crew force"?

Votes for recall:

52%
52%
57%

That's not much of a mandate, I would say.

No it's not. But I would say it was a democratic process. I counted numerous ALPA e-mail list carried "campaign letters" from those subject to recall, and their MEC friends, with few from the recall supporters.

So was this a conspiracy, undemocratic use of recall or just a honest difference of opinion between two groups?

I hope we all accept it was, still is, just a serious disagreement. I'd like to see cooler heads prevail as we work thru it.
