astby and ava for fdx
Is all of the standbys in open time making ava available? I would think with 15 stbys in open time it would be possible to pick up a bunch of ava weird time stbys and get paid 150% to watch tv. Of course you cant get rid of the rest of your schedule

The automatic response for a drop or trip trade is "Disapproved - Insufficient Reserves"
The automatic response for an AVA request is "Disapproved - Sufficient Reserves."
This is another one of O's "Because we can." Welcome to the looking glass, where words mean exactly what the company wants them to mean, when they want them to mean it... nothing more or nothing less. Words like "sufficient, insufficient, and unreasonably denied" all mean different things to FedEx than they do to the rest of the English-speaking world. Humpty Dumpty's in charge.

Well said ... Somehow this just doesn't seem right? I try my hardest to be a good employee and deliver a good product to our customers but it's hard when management treats us like a bunch of dumb kids. Do they really think we won't notice or we won't care?
Command culture surveys or not, I'm disappointed.

Yes how could they create exactly the right amount of standbys that would yield a result that would be insufficient to move or drop but sufficient so no AVA? And if they did any changes would push the manning one way or the other.

And then they draft for the Stby's anyway one hour prior and the usual suspects always end up with them. How about planning ahead and letting the AVA system work as it should.
Let me get this straight. The standbys don't qualify for AVA but they do qualify for draft. In fact they have to draft as they don't have enough reserves to fill them. If they had unfilled pairings on those days they would be approving AVA.
Someone needs to be held accountable here. Why can't we get standby's via AVA?
Our AVA system has been deemed unnecessary via arbitrary creation of standbys.

ago at a hub meeting. I got the deer in the headlights look. Seemed he was completely unaware that the company had changed it[s way of doing business. Didn't seem to care much either.
