Company arranged handler walks you through the process once in country for CGN. No idea about HKG. FDX has made some super secret handshake deal with the Germans and the IRS and has arranged for FDX to pay all associated cost with working overseas to include German and Federal taxes. The pilots pay FDX (via monthly payroll deduction) a hypothetical federal and state withholding which in the end simulates the pilot living in the US. The details of the deal are privileged information and proprietary to management only.....meaning I don't have a clue how it really works but it just works.
