I checked with a friend there and upgrades are taking 5-6 years or more (with the shrinking of the fleet).. and he also said the pool works based on how well you scored at the interview... the better the sooner. And they've been known to just simply "Flush" the pool arbitrarily.

Guys,

Don't worry so much. Take it from a guy who was in the pool a year and a half ago, flushed, and then called for a 200 class after being flushed! Really!

The pool is a funny thing. I know guys who swam in it for 10 weeks like me and guys who got called within a week after being put in. Of course some guys never get the call.

Alot of guys got on a class ahead of me even though they interviewed after me based on the scores. Just the way it is.....

Well, that delay had them pull me from the 200 class, staffing was adequate, and instead they sent me a four year training agreement, as opposed to the two year for the 200, and scheduled me for the November class with 400 training in Denver to follow. Go figure!!!!!

I thought, OK. The same type rating as the 747-8 and maybe I can score an 85 lb asian girlfriend in Hong Kong. LOL! Works for me.

Well, that didn't work out either. The three JAL 400Fs they were expecting to aquire went to other operators instead. I received the call about the cancelled 400 class 1 year ago tomorrow; two days before Thanksgiving. That was tough. I was placed back in the pool, again, and flushed, again.

Corporate aviation now. Home alot more and grateful but still sometimes think "What if"....................

Had a look at the December bid eligibility and no one was on furlough. Mx in JFK is saying the next 400 is in bridging, but that means nothing until the rubber is on the ramp. Stay positive.
