Exactly it is really F'in irresponsible!! I had two friends that I helped get hired at EZ...left really good instructor positions at a regional airline....and got furloughed on the last day of ground school after the systems test. But most know that EZ has done this for years and those that research where they're going know all about it beforehand.

I knew the score before I interviewed. I was expecting it, and I even talked about it in my interview. I'm not blaming or making excuses, I made the choice fully informed and I have no regrets, not even a little.

I'm glad I did not return the call for a class! First right decision I've made in awhile. How do they get pilots to take the job when it is a proven fact that they will get furloughed? Is it regional guys wanting Boeing time, no flame just wondering why anyone would do this to themselves?

That's the problem with this industry! People willing to sell their souls for the almighty TIME in a bigger aero plane. I've got news for you, it never stops, and the man knows this, so he will exploite those willing. Of course, as I type this I'm also on furlough. Probably won't go back, I'll stay in the little jets that seem to pay more and have more stability...but as you say "each has different motivations". Mine's quality of life. Good luck to all those unfortunates on the street.
