To answer your question, though...at the time EZ was operating the Dreamlifter, it was the only 400 they had. So it was a small group of pilots flying it. EZ got a 400 freighter about the same time they lost the Dreamlifter contract to Atlas. Many of the guys who had been flying the Dreamlifter got hired by Atlas.

Of the guys who actually flew the Dreamlifter for Evergreen, only two were hired. Some have left that flew the 400F for us, but only two who got their hands on the Dreamlifter were hired by Atlas. Sad but true.

Are you still just operating the one freighter? I don't know how a single airplane makes economic sense. I thought they said you needed at least 3 or 4 to makes the efficiencies kick in.

Are the 400 pilots just gonna sit around? Thats good work if you can find it. Spiteful Del will probably still insist you sit at the 5 Towns if you want to get paid.
I just hope they don't furlough the 400 pilots out of seniority while the plane is in MX.

No...United hasn't done any recalls. Continental started offering class dates to the furlough list. They have gone thru the first 600 guys to get around 100 to fill this years classes. I may have the chance to go to CAL in the Spring, but will probably pass. I enjoy my current job.
Did EZ try to make the 400 pilots use their vacation time while the plane was down for MX? I'm sure they would have loved to give that a try!
Where did Champlin go? I heard he left.
