it was a sarcastic comment ment to express disgust with having to spend what little cash I had to go interview for a pool that obviously is moot.

I have the most heart felt sympathy for those who have to go through the furloughs and downgrades.

while I understand your frustration with his take on this.... it's likely he was also unemployed and spent money he didn't have to go and interview there.. Channel that anger at Mr. Smith and your inept union, and not the poor guy trying to feed his family.

I have a good friend there now who is on the street and I would have easily been on the street had I not lucked out to be hired by Atlas instead of Evergreen that fateful month in 2010.

"LAND3"

It is not my anger (or my union), just respect for our fellow pilots working at Evergreen. Like you I am fortunate to have been presented a better option, but in hindsight, we know it could easily be any of us going through this.

The "sarcasm" post mentioned above was understandable, but VERY poorly timed in light of the information being shared. It came across as being self centered. His call on the delete option...

This industry is so broken. And just to think, even with the two year delay on implementation, the cargo carve out is going to do nothing to help any of these people find jobs.

God help them keep their families fed and looked after.

lol @ Land3 ..

I hear you man, people are frustrated and angry ... I just wish we had something we could do for them. I wish we had a real union structure that actually paid them a stipend, or at least gave them some kind of medical benefits while they're on their own now fending... I agree with 750.. the industry is broken and needs fixing.. look at American recently.. who's next?

My colleague was former Eastern Airlines then US Air for 18 years. He only flew with them for 5! Two furloughs that lasted a combined 13 years!

If anyone still harbors illusions about how wonderful this industry is.........

Evergreen has been interviewing a lot of people as a tactic to keep their pilots from jumping ship. I am one of them, and I don't appreicate being jerked off for 6 months before a rude e-mail.

Stay away from this place, too long without a contract, and Dell Smith isn't going to fork over 1 red cent of RETRO PAY EVER!!! The writing has been on the wall for a decade.

Expect the worst.
