Just passed thru Travis (SUU) and the ground reps said Evergreen closed their office there and didn't even bid for the 2012 contract that operates out of there.

Does anyone know if they are actively seeking contracts? Or is selling the helo division the beginning of the end? Sorry to be a bit skeptical.....just hoping to get a taste of the 74.....I loved the 72......

It is true. We did not bid the Travis flying. We were there for some time and the flying was fun. The airplanes were shifted to more lucrative work.

And exactly what is more "lucrative" than flying DOD?

More efficient DOD flying? Atlas has always liked the European DOD flying because of the repetition and that leads to lower crew costs for the same money.

Atlas has picked up the SUU flying, two trips a week. It works because they are doing it with a -400 and heavy crew it, and then move the crews and use them elsewhere. I'm willing to bet, the bottom line is less in the end for the SUU flying.
