You really do need to get a handle on your emotions.

Sadly, the more I look into this... the more it points to attitude. I find it really sad. However if you can't be happy as a new hire, how can you be an asset to our company years down the road?

That 727 course is a pretty bad course. It doesn't surprise me someone would have a bad attitude, but you would think they could keep it in check for a year or two.

I got excessed to the back seat; while going through training I asked the instructors how students were taking it, the answer was "everyone has a great attitude about it". I know our plight wasn't quite as bad as theirs, but come on.

For prospective FedEx'ers, be ready; that 727 course will be very difficult and probably the worst run and managed course you will ever encounter. Keep the good attitude, like most of these things, once you're on the line the guys are great and things are a lot better.

All I can say is ***?

I mean are you kidding me? Attitude? I would whistling zippy-doo-da out of my......well you get the idea.

Sadly, this will probably not bode well for others like myself at Brown wanting out.

Is this really true?

I dont even know what to say other than there are plenty of us here that would be very happy to have had that opportunity.....

Time to back away from the keyboard, because if this IS in fact true, it sucks all the way around.

Rant off.

I have heard this is the case elsewhere as well (think Delta). Is it just a right of passage? Kind of a "pledge class" of sorts?

You really gotta screw up bad to get shown the door, even on "probation"....
I'd trust that the powers that be would see that it was isolated to that individual, i.e. just because he was from UPS, "X" regional airline, "X" branch of the military, etc. doesn't mean ALL those people from those groups are like him/her.

But like you said, I'd imagine it would take a REALLY bad attitude to get shown the door.
Why would one have that when they have won the pilot job lottery?

It really isn't that bad. They make it harder than it needs to be, but it isn't difficult. Like anywhere else, just show up prepared and have a decent attitude and you will sail through.

Hey Puke,

I'm hoping you'll get to participate in your own "rite" of passage soon!! Sure wish you'd get the call!!! Having flown the E-model, you'll have no problem. Salutations to the UTANG!!
