Default UPS ACP? Small planes collide (All OK)

I wonder if the 206 driver is an Anchorage ACP? Either way, I'm glad everyone is OK!

From the article in the Anchorage daily news:

"The Cessna pilot told the NTSB he was flying at about 2,300 feet. The floatplane was slightly above the Piper."

It's been a loooong time since I flew VFR, but I think I remember that hemispheric rules for VFR don't begin until 3000 AGL, no?

I'm just glad to hear that Don is ok. Don't know him real well but he seems like one of the good ones.

You're right, 3000ft AGL. Glad that they're all OK. It dosen't turn out this way too often.
Sincerely,
fbh

Seems like there are LOTS of VFR "bug smashers" (I know, I know, these were VERY nice airplanes!) below 3000' around ANC in the summer time. I worry about them on my departures. Stay heads up out there folks ...
