interest
Fdxer...
So you get 2k for 14k being 6 mos delayed? I would ask that they delay it for a few more years and give me 4k every year extra....they can hold my money at 28% interest for a few years..I don't mind...<BG>

Not that this matters, but that is what I said.
The "Pesky Law Link" I inserted in my previous post takes you to Sarbanes-Oxley.com. The Sarbanes-Oxley law prevents companies from restating previously reported earnings which is why I stated that I was pleased that FedEx wouldn't be known as the next Enron.
I guess I should be more clear.

I'll try to be more careful in the future.

Retro?
Let's stick to the issue, if the issue is in fact the term "retro pay".
If other pilot groups were able to legally call it "retro pay" in the past, without accounting implications, then why can't we do the same now? I haven't been to a road show, but can only assume that it's not called "retro pay" because it doesn't meet the definition of the term.
I will not be compenasted for every hour I've worked, since the ammendable date, at my increased pay rate. It's not pay retroactive to the end of the current contract. It is a "signing bonus".....a sum of money calculated by some equation other than retro, offered as an incentive to vote in favor of the T/A.
It is what it is. I'm past it. I voted for it. I'll live with it.

Paying employees for work already accomplished and published as such in previous years' financial reports would mean that the earnings for that company would need to be recomputed. This means that calling the "signing bonus" Retro-Pay is against the law.
