Default Idiots!

Whether you agree with the age 60 rule or not, Bob's sacrifice and others of that era should never be forgotten. Having read and heard the stories of the Eastern/Continental raping, I personally hold individuals like Bob who stood fast, fought what they believed was right, AND DID NOT CROSS THE PICKET LINE, in high regard.

It should be mandatory reading for all new aviators to hear and understand what happen to these guys.

As ALPA welcomes the picket crossers back into "the fold", it seems they want to erase the past and the royal f%#k up on ALPA's behalf.

So if you don't agree with him, fine. But don't mock him. He's an individual who you want in your corner when the **** hits the fan.

So thanks for all your past sacrifices Bob. I hope you continue to tell your tale so we may all learn from it so it will never happen again.

Default Huh?

Bob,

You no pay....I no listen.
If you put anymore stuff in my box, I'll sue you for harassment.
To be a Prima Donna, someone has to care.
And after all that...you quit over the age 60 rule?!!!!! Put your wife through all that Don Quixote stuff then quit over the rule that existed the whole time you did your thing? I don't get it.

Default oh and hey

By the way Dutch,

Bob wasn't in my corner during negotiations, he took his ball and went home. So much for the stalwart support...that kind of support I can do without.

OK, you guys will probably crucify me, but part of Bob's logic is sound. Granted, no pay loses one most credibility. If nothing else taught us anything since 1989 is that you need to be in the game to change it. However, the last ALPA survey on age 60 took place just prior to United, Delta and Northwest totally decimating their retirement plans. I submit that if the poll was taken today you would see drastic numbers changes just from guys caught between a rock and a hard place; then it would be democratically correct to support changing the age. And let's face it, there is no scientific safety data backing up the claim to keep it at 60, which by the way was set arbitrarily years ago when the life longevity was shorter. Now I don't want the age 60 to change any more than most of you who've posted here, but let's be real it's gonna happen sooner or later.

Now about box stuffing. Keep it coming! I may not agree with what you have to say, but free speach is one of the foundations of our society. Plus, I need new butt wipe every so often.

Sir

I would not benefit from age 60, but I take my hat for you. I have never thought of age 60 from this angle, very well put.

Not if ALPA let the thousands of furloughees vote, it wouldn't. If this Age 60 change goes through, those furloughees had might as well put their neat little airline pilot coustume away forever. Some have moved on to better gigs (myself included), but many haven't.

I am striking ALPA. And, I am pretty certain that Carol still supports my effort. It was crystal clear to us who the real freeloaders were back in the mid 80s, and it is crystal clear who they are now.

Bob,

I respect your opinion on the Age 60 situation, but unfortunately, if you don't pay your dues, then you are sticking your hand in MY pocket. Striking against ALPA is akin to striking against your peers. Strike against me, and I'll lock you out!

You see one everyday you look in the mirror. What's the matter? The real estate business slow in Utah?

"Sorry for your woes, Bob hope you enjoy the retirement benefits the union got for you and the rest of the freeloaders."

Guys like this don't retire. They move to the back seat, then slowly fade away.
