It's too bad the internet (and this message board) haven't been around since the beginning of deregulation. It would be fun to look back at 10-year intervals and see which airlines people were trying to get into, and what ultimately happened to the carriers they left.

I don't think you would have to be consistent. Some days are hotter/colder than others. Look at the 757/767, the are temperature ranges for the avionics where you have to run the APU.

So how many guys that were furloughed, now working (TIC) in management. What were these guys thinking? I guess they like silence in the cockpit?

The irony of this will be come August and UPS dumps these guys again. Or even "promotes" them to be full time ground instructors at 1/3 pay.

The rest rules. Really?? I think you will be the one who gets a reality check in Aug. I'm sure UPS already knows what the impact will be (zero in case you were wondering) which is why there are no recalls nor will there be any time soon.

We'll see. I've been wrong before. I did take a job at UPS under the illusion that it was the last job I would ever have!!!

Default I left UPS

I left UPS FO FedEX 6 years ago. Looks like I finally made a good choice after several very bad ones. They told us in indoc class at UPS that they had no interest in the Postal Contract and could not ever see bidding on it.

Don't they get some postal freight now? I think its a small portion compared to FDX. What a bunch of liars.

Default Hey UPS BOD!! LISTEN TO THIS

I guess betting on a double dip just lost some business to you know who!!

FedEx 4Q Profit Rose 33% On Improving Demand; Revenue Strong - WSJ.com

Don't worry it is the low yield stuff. We don't make that much money from it. Guess what happens when you lose all that premium business? There will be no one left.

So what is so bad at UPS? Do they kick you in the junk every time you get on or off the plane? I would think that most people could endure even that for $150K + a year. Now I can see hating your job if you have to put up with BS at $16K a year like a regional pilot but at the money UPS and FEDEX guys make they should be able to take A LOT of BS and keep smiling.

It is funny to bounce around the different sections of the board. Fedex hates 777 crews who don't let them jump seat, UPS hates the company itself, Regional pilots hate the low time guys trying to break into the business....etc.

I guess no one in is really happy anywhere.
