Default FedEx, Training date swap

Does a training date swap have to be domicile specific?

For example, can a 757FO awarded CGN swap training dates with a 757FO awarded MEM? MD11 MEM/ANC?

Thanks, appreciate the help, as always.

The swaps are based on what you are going to, not what you are coming off of.

It all has to do with utilization of the simulators for the new equipment.

I misunderstood what you where asking when you tagged that MD11 phrase on to the sentence.

You can swap between 757 FO classes, regardless of domicile.

Another thing to remember is that you are swapping a slot, not a date. The training letter positions are just slots, and the dates can and often do change.

Just something to keep in mind.

I don't think the company will allow swaps between domiciles especially if it pushes back the non MEM locations - CGN HKG, ANC. We are undermanned there and the company can prevent you from swapping. They were pushing HKG guys thru and not allowing swaps for non-HKG guys. I'll bet it will be the same for CGN - especially for the right seat.

Thanks, that answers the question.

I think this is spot on.

Default Cgn

I heard from an insider that there are 14 slots open for F/O's in CGN after the second round of bids. Any chance those may be offered to new hires? If so, when might there be a class date. As it stands now, I am slated for a September class date.

I guess I will assume you will be a new hire in Sep.

Short answer is yes. Basically once you are on the property you can bid for anything when they have a bid. Does not matter how long you have been on property. Traditionally they usually offer any open slots to new hires on the 1st day. You may have to go to another seat 1st, particularly if they are trying to flow CGN pilots at a specific rate.

I would add.. if you have a strong desire to go to CGN.. Make your desire known before you show up. And you may avoid making a stop in another seat. This has been done before when we had the crew base at Subic.

If you have a firm class date for September, let the people in the hiring department know.
