Cloud,
Welcome!

8.A.4.
a. Deadhead travel shall be booked in coach class unless a higher class of service is authorized.

b. A class of service higher than coach shall be authorized if:
i. a deadhead exceeds 5 scheduled block hours; or
ii. a deadhead is included in a single duty period exceeding 11:30; or
iii. the scheduled block hours of a revenue flight plus the scheduled block hours of a deadhead in a single duty period exceed 8 hours. However, if a domestic duty period does not exceed 11:30 and a deadhead within that duty period does not exceed 1:30 (OAG) block, the deadhead may be scheduled in coach.

I've used all three and are vary valuable for commuters! Just a couple of gotchas if being new to the game. Travel banks are specific to training and the line. So if you have a bank while on IOE, you can't use that money once you are released to the line. Also parking is limited to $100 a bid period regardless of how much you have in your bank. So if you go over, you eat it. If you are gonna go over and have the coin, get a livery service, or just do that from the start.

Company's openers - much worse.
Yep, that was it-- another attempt to increase our pain while saving them money (because you then wouldn't qualify for higher cost 1st Class fare)

Thanks for the info. I will be digging into the CBA to better understand all this.

Appreciate the help and the welcome. Great to finally be here.

Did not want to start a new thread so...
On a trip in Paris.. supposed to DH to HKG then operate home. I made the HUGE mistake of picking up the phone, I know I know, and lo and behold CRS. Revised to operate DXB LO, then Delhi LO then CDG and DH back. It's to replace a sick in the field.

I will get back almost 3 days late....Looked at the contract, sections 25 and 4. Looks like Disruption pay, extra duty pay, landing pay, added duty periods and layover change pay.

I have not had this happen before...can anyone think of anything else I should put in for?? And it's draft for the 2 1/2 days extra right? Thanks in advance...

150 % draft first two days, 200% after that.

For some of those extra pays you'll have to submit a pay log.

Disruption pay? Don't forget about this little gem:

CBA 4.W.3. Except for the disruption due to a deadhead at the end of a trip being revised to operate, as provided in Section 25.S.2.b.ii., a disruption(s) is not payable based on events that occurred during a duty period that qualifies for extra duty period pay, as provided in Section 4.Y.

CBA 4.Y.2. If a duty period qualifies for extra duty period pay, no disruptions, (except for the disruption due to a deadhead at the end of a trip being revised to operate, as provided in Section 25.S.2.b.ii.), are payable based on events that occurred during that duty period.

So, looks like extra duty periods pay at 3:30 each and draft.

Has anyone ever figured out how the company let the extra :30 slide in the contract on extra duty period pay? You don't suppose we pulled one over on them, do you?

Thanks guys... I appreciate the expertise. So extra duty at 3:30 and 150 to 200 % for the 2 1/2 days...not bad. But I would rather have been home.

Teach me to answer my damn phone.....

I couldn't find a direct answer to this in the contract...

Deviated from D/H and when I arrived at the pax carrier gate I am told, no seat available for me and 6 other pax, due to overbooked/oversold flight.

If the airline is looking for volunteers, can we choose to volunteer for the next flight and get the $ the airline offers for a future personal-use ticket?

Yes. You are still using the purchased ticket to fly. No different than if they offer you a meal voucher while waiting for the next flight.
