I like it just fine too, because it's the best kind of uniform...the free kind.

Which ever one offers me a job is the best.

I understand what you are saying, everybody likes something for free. But does that mean you would wear a pink tu-tu to work just because it was free? Cheapness, while it might be a pilot tradition, has it's limits.

The only group who thinks brown suits are ok, are used car salesman from Chicago. And Nazi's. When's the last time you saw one in the business world?

Would you wear one to an interview? Seriously, even a UPS interview?

Dude, we don't get some things for free, we get everything for free. Would you rather pay out of pocket for all your uniform items? I wouldn't. The company is providing all the milk dud colored uniform items, shirts, belts, ties, raincoat, and your frigging suitcase/flight kit for FREE. I personally think it's a pretty good deal, and certainly nothing to complain about.

I only wear the short sleeve white shirt, the tie, and the trousers...that's it. I never wear the suit jacket, the leather jacket, the black raincoat, or the hat. If it's cold outside, I wear my North face fleece and a watch cap. I'm really not mentally scarred from the embarrassment of having to wear dark brown trousers.

We're in the business world? We're at airports at 3am, stepping over Chinese guys sleeping on the terminal floor. We're pretty far from the business world, as far as I can tell.

No, fortunately I don't own any brown polyester suits. I prefer Armani or Zegna for an interview...but if a company is paying me a good six figure salary, and providing me all my uniform items for free, I don't have a problem wearing milk dud colored trousers...I really don't.

Ha Ha! Thanks for the laugh!

This thread is hilarious - you guys can b*tch with the best of 'em.

Be thankful for free...I can't imagine how much I've spent over the past 15 years on uniform stuff.

Nothing that we get is for free ...

Its negotiated, or they would have already taken it away. Like running water in the MDs, gone in an instant if its not contractual.

I think UPS is the better place to work. Just read these Forums. UPS pilots seem much happier than FedEx pilots.

Oh for Christ's sake...so what if it's negotiated? We negotiate for everything at UPS. You don't consider this one little thing a good deal for us?

I'm sure you worked at another airline before UPS, did they provide all your uniforms, etc, at no cost to you?

When I was at Delta, we had to purchase all uniform items out of pocket...and I mean everything, right down to the wings on your shirt. You think they provided us with Travel Pro suitcases and flight kits? That's a laugh. I had spent well over $1000 by the time I purchased all the required items.

There are a lot of things we can complain about at UPS, this really isn't one of them.
