So, the REAL question is, what job/airline is it that airline pilots scoff at today which will be the coveted job tomorrow?

This belief is the root cause of your fundamental misunderstanding of the situation.

If you talk to anyone who has been around the flying business for several decades (and has presumably experienced a lot of different jobs at many different levels of the flying industry), they'll flat out tell you that QOL and job satisfaction FAR outweigh raw pay scale in determining your lifelong happiness as a pilot.

How many hours do I earn while sitting around for 4 hours between two flights?
How many days of vacation do I earn?
How many actual days of work can I knock out with those vacation days?
Are you going to commute or live in domicile?
Do you have to start your trips in domicile or are their provisions to start trips in the field?
Will the company buy you a ticket to start those trips or are you on your own?
Does the company D/H you company aircraft or buy airline tickets?
How many hours do they pay you while deadheading?
Does the airline have an up or out policy?
So, for comparison purposes, would someone flying Purple and someone flying Brown like to answer these?

We have a hat??

The uniform is definitely brown, but replacement parts are FREE.

Which proves the old saying "you get what you pay for".

Many, including me have had it far harder than you have (so far) in this business. I took it personally when I got furloughed over 20 years ago, and had I hung my future solely on that place I'd still be on furlough...for the second time like close friends, many of which either now hove comfortable corporate jobs, are at UPS or other carriers, or in the case of a close, yet gone friend like Doug Lampe who also lived the USAir "dream" are now dead partly as a result of IMO corporate manslaughter.

Yeah...up close it's easy for any of us to put our heads in our hands and whine...I've been there. But I chose to get a grip and move on...try it.

Damn man...you wear me out...you really do.

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't see FliFast whining. Maybe you just needed another opportunity to tell us how bad you had it at UsAir. Sorry about that, but it too is behind you, perhaps you should move on.

First time I've heard that in a long, long time.

You're from one of the flyover States, aren't you. LOL.
