Cologne schools

As for the rest of us, NON-FDAers, we are being shafted. None of the significant issues mentioned ad nauseum have been adequately addressed if at all. It is now becoming a bit more clear that even the so called "good deals" for the FDAers might have already lost their new car smell.
As has been said before, "the devil is in the details." We should as a group be very familiar with the devil, almost on a first name basis by now.

Just forget about the 4 biggest concerns that the "polling" showed to be the major elements of the crew force. Remember, we can force the company to the table again in a year and get everything then. Yeah, right, and the company will have no problems giving us a contract within a few months that fully addresses all of our concerns.
Hope the ones who bit on the money offer are now happy. I'm looking forward to Contract 2016, which is likely to be the next time that we get to vote.

I have never
in my life
seen such a sarcastic, pessimistic group of people.
Do you folks not know any pilots at any other company?????
If you can't make it in Cologne off our payscale and 42 grand in housing every year then you need to evaluate your lifestyle a little bit.

Immobilien, Wohnungen und Häuser bei ImmobilienScout24 mieten, kaufen, inserieren has a big database of housing rentals. Use Google's Chrome browser, and it will automatically translate much of the pages into English.
$3,500 (€2,500) will go far towards housing in Cologne. Just don't expect a 5,000 sq ft mansion.
An area I recommend is Bensberg. It's 20 min from downtown Cologne and the airport, a very nice castle downtown, good schools, and lots of money. Oh, and supermodel Heidi Clum was born and raised here

It cracks me up that those pinnacle capts want to move here. Why they are making more then 95% of the people living in the memphis theater. If they cant survive on that they should seriously look at readjusting their lifestyles.

Just out of curiosity, how are the current weight allowances, HHG storage allowances, non-housing costs and job/scope protection working out for those currently living in the FDAs?
Single guys....vs married....vs those with school age kids?
Would love to hear inputs from all those perspectives.
Do those living there think there should be any further improvements?
What's the current turnover rate in the FDAs after the initial 2-year committment is done? (...especially amongst FOs)
Of the four FOs I personally know who went to HKG, it's a 50% return rate after their first 2 years.
What expat packages (other companies) have we directly compared our benefits to?
It's pretty easy to check ours against US military pilots living & flying broad --- how do ours stack up?

It is coming down to the wire on the CGN bid. Pretty sure I am going to bid - FO not Capt. My only concern left is the schools. I'd appreciate any advice from guys that have sent their kids to either an international school or even a German school. I have two kids ages 9 and 11. Thanks.
