Question FEX written for FedEx

I seem to recall that that a FEX written doesn't expire if a pilot is employed continuously at a 121 airline during the time they've held the written. Can anyone confirm that? For example, I took mine back in 2007 and have been at CAL ever since. There's a printed expiration on it of 2009, but I was led to believe it is still valid during employment...

This has been discussed in some of the other sections regarding applications/new hires with FedEx.

While it is legal as you say per the FARs, it is not what FedEx will accept. They want a current one. Sucks that you have to do it again, but that is the way it is. I took my FE written a couple of times just to keep it current.

Tough crowd tonight! Thanks guys. The window closes in 30 minutes, but it accepted my expired FEX info. Guess I better take it again just in case... If it all fails, I'm sure I'll have a long, happy career here at the *new* United, right?

This would be true if you were applying to the FAA for a Flight Engineer certificate. But you're not. You're applying to FedEx for a job. So you have to follow the FedEx rules.

Hey Just kidding about the GOSH! Good luck with the FEX. I would recommend Sheppard Air Flight Test 4.0 Prep Software ATP, Flight Engineer, Mil Comp - FAA Airline Transport Pilot for test prep. 75.00 well spent

Yeah. Let's get out of here. Worse job I've ever had. A legal department with airplanes.
