Delta's pricing to FedEx
Boxes and overnight envelopes don’t know the paint scheme on their aircraft. Can you imagine the uproar that passengers would spiel on USA today if they rode on this aircraft? Delta gave FedEx an asking price that was an absolute bargain for an airplane that cost new over 90 million dollars list. FedEx normally negotiates with the seller to get a better deal, but this did not happen. Delta’s MD-11 aircraft were bought for less than 30 million dollars each including some spare engines thrown in by Delta to sweeten the deal. Delta needed the cash to stay afloat.
