Default Fdx 727fe

Just a couple of simple questions, out of curiosity for packing purposes:

Do 727 FE's carry a flight bag? Or do they have an EFB?

Is the leather jacket a Gibson & Barnes? (just wondering if my leather jacket from a previous airline is the same as what you guys wear).

Should a junior FE plan on leaving sunglasses at home for the first year ?

Thanks.

Leather jacket from R and R uniforms. You can buy half in the first year and the other half in the second year. Your uniform allowance will cover it.

FEs don't have to carry jepps or flight bag. About half the 72s have EFBs, the other half are on the way. You copy the pertinent info from the front seaters or just print your own off the computer in AOC if you prefer.

Sunglasses might come in handy on hub turns back to the east coast once in a while.

No Jepps bag, you can get away with any standard rolling suitcase and a backpack or business style bag of your choice for the small amount of paperwork you'll carry with you.

The newly authorized all weather gortex style jacket will come in much more handy during bad weather in Montana, but the leather jacket is the more "approved" all weather solution. It's a long story...

Sunglasses are nice when you are late, pointing East, and that darn fiery ball starts breaking the horizon. Wear them to the hotel and your body might not feel so much like it's daytime yet (as you struggle to get ready to sleep).

Sorry for the thread drift. But, I didn't want to start a new one.

Does anyone know what the last sentence in the FDX FOM 2.77 means?

We can't just read the last sentence...it is poorly written.

Once you leave the chocks, and have non-flagged discrepancy (or no 3 on board 3 required items) and something breaks you can continue the flight. It's a poor example but I think what they are trying to say is once you are airborne and land it must be written up before it flies again.

The last sentence in my FOM says:

"As an example, if any portion of the aircraft leaves the operating surface (runway, taxiway, ramp) an AML entry is required."

Seems fairly straight forward to me.

What are you getting at BB? Did you run off the pavement?

Good grief!! That didn't even cross my mind. But, I think you're right. They're using taxiing into the mud as an example of something that should be written up?

That's the best they could come up with? Brilliant!!

Want to bet they had a reason for this example?
