FedEx TA and Right to Work changes
WRepublican Senators Introduce National Right to Work Act - Press Releases - News Room - United States Senator Jim DeMint
Who benefits more by pushing negotiations into the future? Will we have more leverage now or two years in the future? Checkers vs chess....yet again. We say KING ME! and company says CHECK MATE!

It's amazing how the propaganda machine works; I'm sure the reason the economy is so bad is because of the fact that Union membership has declined 66% since the 1950s. Not that we've bailed out millionaires and Billionaires on Wall Street so they can keep there Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and third homes. What are they going to blame it on when there are no more unions? "All union members are rich and don't deserve the money they make..." please. Unions built the middle class of this great nation the decline is what is wrong.

<$250k worker).
It is ironic that the Wisconsin budget shortfall is about equivalent to the significant tax breaks granted to the largest big business contributor to the Governors campaign. Now he's attempting to finance this tax break on the backs of his middle class public servants, and use the ruse of collective bargaining as a "method?" to achieve fiscal efficiencies. If he pulls it off Koch & the Gov will be laughing all the way to the bank, & will be the heroes of the conservative movement for "breaking" the union, and using their concessions to fund the "cause"- lower taxes, higher profits for his core constituents, all the while weakening & dividing his political challengers. (Also notable is that he did not target the police & Firefighters unions- who suppoted his campaign-purity of purpose)
Don't know how these guys ever claim to be ethical.
History is again repeating itself.

These guys are NOT your friends. Their sole purpose is to establish legal frameworks which weaken the Amercian workers ability to collecivley bargain-- IN ORDER TO MAXIMIZE Profits for their CORE constituency- (which is NOT US- or the middle class

Really??!! Is that why NEA Pres (Reg Weaver) makes somewhere between $686,600 and $440,000 (NEA Will Not Disclose His Compensation Package) and the common teacher doesn't make 10% of that. Check the salaries of all the heads of this nation's largest unions and tell me what you see. Equity and Ethics???
Bus driver in Madison can call in Sick for his 1st shift and see an opening that afternoon and pick it up (Same Day Mind You) and get time and a half pay! Equity and Ethical Behavior? We can't do that!
Teacher who has sexual assualt or misconduct charges or who by judge's order cannot be near students gets to sit in a "Rubber Room" (like UAW excess workers used to be able to) and get paid full salary and benefits and watch Soap Operas all day. Young, fired up teacher gets laid off! Equality and Ethical?
I was a government civil servant twice. Government service was never designed to make wages above the private sector.....EVER!!! It was stable work with good benefits but lower salary because of the calling to be a "Public Servant!" That is totally bastardized and bass-ackwards now.
This nation and the states are in deep trouble. The answer isn't just changing public sector job pay, but the abuses that have come over time need to be stopped and money needs to be spent wisely. It won't be easy and it will hurt. But bad eggs need to go and even the Big Dem/Lib Pres FDR never was for Collective Bargaining for Govt and State workers.

Take a gander at this chart and tell me how your favorite brand of political Kool-Aid has helped unions, see any correlation at all?
There isn't any, it is a fantasy that just won't die. Unions have been on the decline for a very long time no matter which party was in power.
If you are really interested go research the largest fatcat bailout in history, still ongoing. Goldman-Sachs was a big player and funded much of the political lift.
The biggest mistake you can make is assuming that any of these people are your friends in any way.

what amazes me is how a bunch of $200k plus guys cannot realize WHY they earn TWICE the pay of pilots at Atlas, Polar, Kalita, and Southern.
Why is it? is it because a bunch of republicans put a bill before congress that states that airline pilots for Fedex will earn $280 per hour? I think not! Instead we get a bunch of ditto-heads strutting around the AOC and changing the channel on every monitor to Faux News and screaming about how much tax they are paying. The same channel touted by the same republicans that are earning this big salary..that also talks about removing the union that gave them this big income. Too boot, they are typically former military pilots, who had $1 million spent on their training....so that they could turn around and walk in the door at Fedex and make that salary. The salary that is the result of TAX DOLLARS, since the training that allowed them to get the job at Fedex was paid for by tax payers!
Hello?
"Right to work" changes? This is rebuttlicken-speak for the removal of "agency shop". Agency shop is where people are required to pay dues. Since the union negotiates for EVERYONE, it stands to reason that EVERYONE should pay their damn dues. Dues don't amount to much, but if you don't have a union....your income is typically HALF!
Folks, I'm not about to let a bunch of republicans take away my collective bargaining rights, my salary, or my rights. These people HATE you; they consider you a "cost" and they will do anything [and I do mean ANYTHING] to reduce your cost!
Think. THINK!

A handful of undocumented rumors about some dude that "scammed" the system by calling in sick is NOT the reason we are in a recession. Open your eyes, man and stay off of Faux News. This is nothing more than the "Welfare Queen driving a Cadillac" spin that the Reagan revolution brought us.
The politics of wage repression and the unbalanced power of Capital over Labor is all very well documented, look it up. Federal tax breaks for the top, federal bailouts for "free market" ideologues, constantly sending jobs overseas where the labor is cheapest.. it's a race to the bottom and you are cheering it on, even though you are also affected by it.
I personally don't want to see this country being a great place only if you are rich... because think about it, eventually even a "rich" person will be on the bottom, and then they will be the target. It's like eating your young.
