First of all, stop calling me "Normie". That's not my name!

Second of all, if you are going to swear on this forum, have the decency to do it right: Call me a "Son of a *****" instead of an SOB. That is so 7th grade-

Third, you're on medical leave, due to the fact that you're an overweight greaseball. That was a real nice try on the name, I have to admit that! By the way, I've never been to Tulsa with this company.....

Wrong answer idiot-

Besides name calling and mud slinging can anyone come up with a factual argument to support Union dominance under any political party during the last fifty years?

Let's try to keep the red/blue argument to a minimum and just show-x party was in power and over those years unions flourished. Pick any of the last fifty years.

Or maybe facts are too difficult.

I can hear a lot of crickets at this point though.

Anyone?

Why is it? is it because a bunch of republicans put a bill before congress that states that airline pilots for Fedex will earn $280 per hour? I think not! Instead we get a bunch of ditto-heads strutting around the AOC and changing the channel on every monitor to Faux News and screaming about how much tax they are paying. The same channel touted by the same republicans that are earning this big salary..that also talks about removing the union that gave them this big income. Too boot, they are typically former military pilots, who had $1 million spent on their training....so that they could turn around and walk in the door at Fedex and make that salary. The salary that is the result of TAX DOLLARS, since the training that allowed them to get the job at Fedex was paid for by tax payers!

Hello?

"Right to work" changes? This is rebuttlicken-speak for the removal of "agency shop". Agency shop is where people are required to pay dues. Since the union negotiates for EVERYONE, it stands to reason that EVERYONE should pay their damn dues. Dues don't amount to much, but if you don't have a union....your income is typically HALF!

Folks, I'm not about to let a bunch of republicans take away my collective bargaining rights, my salary, or my rights. These people HATE you; they consider you a "cost" and they will do anything [and I do mean ANYTHING] to reduce your cost!

Think. THINK!
Well said. And what a relief to hear that at least one other FedEx crewmember can't stand the FNC on our TVs in the AOC. Makes my skin crawl when I see pilots glued to Glenn Beck on the hub turn.

You are dead on balls accurate in your comments about how our military pilots are unfortunately the sad victims of this propaganda... and I am a former military guy. It's exactly true that former military pilots owe the government for their lifestyle, yet they are the biggest cheerleaders for the tea party.. very confusing. Propaganda is tough to resist.

FNC is basically a propaganda outlet for the Republican Party, and our pilots love it because they think (wrongly) that they are the target audience. Truthfully, I turn the channel whenever no one is looking.

jungle,

I agree that unions are on the decline and have been for years.

However, it has become especially trendy to crush the unions. Look at what is going on in Wisconsin, Ohio, etc. They are union employees that work for the government, which in itself is a strange animal, but when you see governors trying to squash collective bargaining rights, it isn't a good thing (from a union perspective).

People have severe benefit envy these days. They see the union employees still hanging onto decent benefit packages (and a few still have retirements) and they lost theirs years ago.

I'd say it has been a dramatic increase in anti-union sentiment lately. Most of us are conservatives. From a business perspective it makes sense to pay people less money to do our jobs. We hold the company hostage by threatening to strike. I see their point, we artificially inflate our wages and benefit packages based on our ability to bargain collectively. I think many Americans see us as another example of "whats wrong with this country."

I was trained by the military. I served my commitment and then some (21 years total). I don't feel indebted at all. I gave the vast majority of my adult years flying for the military. I feel like I've "paid back" the military for my training.

Also, I don't really watch fox news either. I am a moderate, I've voted for Republican and Democrats. Just try to find the best candidate.

While I am certainly not in love with the Democratic party, the Republicans sure don't have our best interest in mind when it comes to organized labor....

I see that the Dems vs Repubs/divide and conquer is alive and well!

On a different note, public workers who are unionized draw their money from the population at large; the tax payer. Union workers at non govt jobs earn their money from companies that are in the free market who, based on their earnings, may or may not be able to pay the asked for wages. Not so in a govt job. The govt will have to print money or jack the taxes or both to pay out to the employees. And everybody gets pooched.

There is a big difference between the two.
