FDX-TA Raises MEC Officer's Pay
Go to Section 18.B.1.b and see that if this TA is approved, the MEC officers will get a huge pay raise. They will now get the highest of the system-wide average, not what's appropriate for their domicile, aircraft and seat which means an FO on the MEC will get paid as a captain. And the average will now include carryover...and all I get is a puny 3%??!! NOW I see why the MEC is pushing so hard for us to ratify this TA!

Under the current CBA, MEC officer's are paid based upon the pay rate of their seat position and longevity. According to the changes listed in the TA, if the TA is ratified, their pay will now be based upon the system-wide average of the highest lines with carryover. So not only are they all adding carryover to their pay, but all MEC officer's regardless of their crew position will receive the highest system-wide average pay.
And they also added more people to be paid this way. Under the CBA, this pay structure is limited to the MEC Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary-Treasurer. This TA adds pilots elected or appointed to ALPA National, IFALPA, and anyone else the MEC Chairman decides to include, to a maximum of 10.

I have every confidence that the MEC, through ALPA policy properly minds the store. Please, if you are in fact correct, that the MEC Officers will get a huge raise upon ratification, let us know ASAP so others can be informed as a part of their voting decision.

No changes to any Officer pay with OR without the TA being passed. Officer pay is set, per ALPA MEC Policy Manual. Any changes to that pay needs to be accomplished through that manual.
The stuff in chapter 18 is just some type of "limit" that ensures FedEx does not have to pay our Officers some crazy figure, if approved, by the council. Meaning, he said, that if the MEC decided to pay these jobs 150 CH a month that the Company could balk, since they actually pay the pilots and back bill ALPA. He said there is cost to fedex, benefits like b fund and pension issues that drive the company to want a limit.
Take it for what is is worth, don't believe my second hand recollection, find out yourself is what I suggest.
