Falcon jet,
Were there any direct questions on why the following were not addressed:
Real Time trip trading
Deviation bank adjustments
Accepted fares
no harm no foul JS for LAX & ANC
Reserve pay/day protections (could be 4a2b)
Limitations to R-day moves
Allowances for R-day drops (line holders can drop but reserves can not in many instances on the same days)
There are many issues that are not related to the NPRM. The crew force was surveyed, on many of them. I & many others have provided detailed letters to our reps & direct to the NC.
Curious if the roadshow even stated why any of these other issues are not addressed- or did anyone in the audience ask?

"As for the other fixes you mentioned, those have been explored, and will continue to be explored during the ongoing discussions, but I will say none of them are as "easy" as they appear. Rest assured fixes in all those areas are under consideration. Please keep in mind, this is a short term bridge to a more permanent and comprehensive fix to many issues. We have not abandoned any of the concepts in our original openers, and this TA is just a means to pursue the end."
Personally I believe we have enough leverage with the FDA LOA (which management desperately wants/needs to expand in Europe) to get the vast majority of the contract negotiated; it's just a matter of showing our resolve to the Company demanding a comprehensive contract. That is why I will be voting NO.

Operating the 777 under the new rules comes to mind.
Labor peace comes to mind.
The FDA is not that much of a motivator. They CAN operate it sans an agreement, the cost differential is not that large. ALPA has costed it out, I am sure. The NG might even know those numbers.
I would say this. If I was very sure the economy would keep moving upward right now, I might think that the idea of waiting had some merit. Are you that sure? Here is the scenario that we might be looking at. Company is hiring right now because if the economy does continues to grow they will be very short soon. However, if it hiccups a year from now, we will be even MORE overmanned than the last time. Here comes 4a2b again.
So, the answer really depends on how sure you are about the economic growth. If it is growing, then we are almost for sure looking at a 2nd term for Obama and a good position to negotiate after the NPRM is all settled out (which will take a couple of years based on what everyone seems to think). The argument that we should vote "no" has some merit, although the cost of doing so might be higher than many here think.
If it has a chance of not growing, we risk going back into 4a2b with no protections. We also risk being in negotiations with a new president AND a bad economy, and no raises or fixes to the current CBA at all.
Personally, I am not so confident that the economy is a sure thing. Also, I am not so sure that I would be voting for Obama on a 2nd term either way, but a "no vote" would mean it would be foolish not to vote for him.

Signing this TA extends the amendable date by 1~2 years, thus putting any gov't intervention in a final solution further out in the future.
Further in the future = greater chance of non union-friendly administration.

1. No specific scope language (HUGE!)
2. Requirement to live within 100NM to obtain housing allowance (...to include dependents) (No other domicile has this restriction...just show up for work on time)
3. Ridiculously low weight allowances --- 1,000 lbs per family going over. (...ask your family to lay 4 seasons of clothes out on their beds and then get back to me on this)
I think there are some significant gains in the FDA for which I am thankful, but changes in these areas are also overdue and should be included in this round of improvements.

On top of that, I think the FDA improvements are good, but still fall short in a few critical areas:
