I was more talking about FedEx being the "it" airline. Ex. Pan Amonce was, United once was, then it went to crap, then UPS was for the "stability", now look what happened....
Never know what can happen at FredEx.

Hopefully, they have made the right decision long term.....only time will tell. I know a guy that left Cathay to go to United....needless to say, he ended up at USA3000. Another one left SWA for United....now is at GoJets. This industry is such a crapshoot, you just never know what will happen.

You'll likely be assaulted by the all knowing experts here that apparently innately knew that coming to work at UPS would be a disaster, that the IPA would either cause their misfortune or abandon them and that anybody who dares offer a contrary opinion to their ****y rants is an oppressor of their genius/omnipotent knowledge.

Along with so many here who grit their teeth and walk away rolling their eyes, I have grown tired of the day care center and petting zoo of the ungrateful and clueless. Maybe they need to follow the all knowing you listed and go elsewhere. The "funny" thing is, if they went to Fed Ex or SWA they'll be the first simpering and complaining about how un appreciated they are...pfffft. After all, THEY are the first ones to ever suffer adversity in this career...oh the horror. Yawn.

They probably thought they made a good long term decision when they came to UPS, not working out so good either. And you know what, they may be the lucky ones that get out of here early because, "only time will tell"

Oh, there are TONS of great flying jobs available now, and the pilot shortage will get MUCH MORE SEVERE, soon. I bet UPS will be shocked at how many furloughees they lose. The longer they wait to recall, the more they will lose.

And, they won't appreciate those loses until they try to hire again. They will be SHOCKED!!!

I will make time for a more eloquent response but first thank you for a most salient objection. Too many times here people constantly flame people with emotion and name calling. Your response was very professional and un-emotional, and I appreciate your opinion.

I will try to answer all your questions as time permits, but the I would like to point out something in your timeline that illustrates what I was trying to say. Your timeline is very factual, however what I was trying to point out by saying that there is no last word in diplomacy is this:

While UPS had ANNOUNCED the furlough there was in fact no one on the street on March 5th. This first went out May 24th. Once we delivered the FQS integration message there was no turning back on the furlough for UPS. Do you see where I am coming from? Again, there is no last word in diplomacy. I would have waited for the actual furlough prior to firing this shot.

There may or may not have been alternatives to the furlough prior to them putting us on the street. Maybe they would have done it anyway, but in my opinion, once that missile was fired there was no turning back, they had to go "all in" as it were. Remember this is there most coveted dirty little secret, and we went for the jugular with no regard for the consequences.

Does the airline within an airline need to end? Absolutely it does, but my belief is the timing was all wrong. Again, my opinion. As to what we can do now, well I am not trying to bait you but I truly must write that response at a later date, I am out of time for today.

They wont give two &*#%'s. They will have all new people to brainwash and lie too. Add to that, they will pay them 30k a year for the first year. Don't be surprised if you see this as a current theme at UPS. Hire, furlough, hire, furlough.

A couple of the airlines in the 70's tried this one. Hire pilots and on day 364 fire them only to hire them back the next day at new hire pay once again. The UPS airline may die a slow painful death as this continues.

Yep, I'll find out if turning down that interview with FedEx after I was here 4 months was the best decision I ever made or the dumbest thing I ever did someday. Only time will tell.

I knew if I waited long enough, I'd agree with something you've said. It's been a long wait, but I finally agree with your above statement: "only time will tell." However, it won't "tell" until you're either retired, or about to retire. Then it becomes crystal clear. Until then, not so much. Besides, you might not have been offered that job at FedEx, so at least for right now, it appears that you made the right decision. Good job.
