Default FedEx - bidding question for ITU month

I'm switching airplanes and start ITU on Thursday, March 31 (4th day of the April bid month). I'm currently bidding for March. If I bid a carryover R line that goes into the first 3 days of the April bid month, will I get paid my "pay only" line for April, plus the 3 carry-in R-days from March, or just the value of the pay-only line, because the rest of the month is dropped for training? Make sense? Thanks.

I think you might work those R days until 12 hours prior to your class on Thursday. April's pay only line will pay what it is worth beyond that.

Just to be completely correct, you shouldn't be bidding "pay only" in April since you start training in April. If you don't have the carry over R days and you bid a line that has a trip on the first couple days of the bid month, you'll be responsible for that trip. If your training continues into May, then you'll be "pay only" for the May bid month.

Another gotcha I just learned the hard way. I start ITU 14 March. I bid only lines that would conflict so I could have the 2 weeks off before school. I was awarded a single departure 13 day trip, starting the 7th. Now I'm told I owe them 6 days, to be assigned as a custom line. Not even a make-up, which gets assigned before VTOs, but a custom, assigned after VTOs. I'm told ITU does not count for min days off. It's probably much easier starting the 4th day of the month, but don't do anything those first 3 days.

Another major hole in this current contract that needs to be addressed prior to this TA becoming the rule! Training pay is a major turd alert issue for me!

If I'm sick during training, exactly how much is deducted from my sick bank for each day?

It depends on if they reschedule you during the month. If they do, then nothing. Otherwise, R-day value.

Similar question, what about a trip that launches in the AM of the day you start training? Training officially starts at 1400Z, so will I be paid for trips that start at 0800Z like I will ones that start after training begins, or will they claim that I owe them a day for the 6 hours that doesn't overlap the training footprint?

CBCFLY (or anyone else), did you ever get a complete answer to your question? Did you get paid for the carryover R-days plus the portion of your line that was in conflict with training?

Thanks,
BB
